Remember the days when you'd tune in to MTV to see the latest music video or catch Total Request Live? Well, Fidlar wanted to tap into that nostalgia in their new video for "40 oz. On Repeat" -- and they nailed it.

Directed by Ryan Baxley, the clip (above) is a hilarious take on some of our favorite music videos of yore. From Beastie Boys' "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)" and Oasis' "Wonderwall" to Britney Spears' "... Baby One More Time" and Jamiroquai's "Virtual Insanity," the video goes through a number of iconic visuals that take us back. And the cardboard cutouts are a great touch, too.

"In the late '90s and early 2000s, music videos were such a huge deal," guitarist and lead vocalist Zac Carper said in a statement. "We decided that instead of making one overly slick music video, we would nod to 15 of our favorite music videos that we grew up with. Everyone in the band threw in their ideas."

"40oz. On Repeat" is a new track off the Los Angeles band's sophomore album, Too. Produced by Jay Joyce, the 12-song album was recorded in Nashville over the course of two weeks, and it expands on the pop-infused garage rock sound they created on their 2013 debut record. Too also marks the first time the band worked with a producer.

"We could have made record number one again ... but instead we decided to challenge ourselves and admit that we don't know everything," Carper said. "Up until this point we had recorded everything ourselves, so working with a producer taught us so much. I didn't want to make a standard rock record. The goal for this album was to think outside the box and I think Jay really helped us do that."

Too will hit the streets on Sept. 4 via Mom + Pop Music, but you can pre-order it now on iTunes or over at Fidlar's website.
