Foster the People Frontman Climbs Kilimanjaro
Foster the People frontman Mark Foster reached the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro yesterday. He and singer Kenna scaled the Tanzanian natural landmark to spark awareness about the need for clean water across the globe.
Foster and Kenna began climbing Kilimanjaro, which is the world’s highest freestanding mountain, last week. Foster tweeted yesterday, "Made it to the top of Kilimanjaro! Went in as strangers. Left as family."
The pair posted a video from 16,000 feet on 'Rolling Stone' yesterday, hammering home the purpose of their Summit on the Summit trek. Kenna embarked on a similar journey in 2010 with Jessica Biel and Lupe Fiasco. "We're doing this project for clean water," Kenna says in the video. "We're here to make a statement because the global clean water crisis is such a huge issue."
