Fun.'s No. 1 hit 'We Are Young' is one of the most inescapable songs of 2012, perhaps outmatched only by Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe' -- and in these days of ubiquitous YouTube cover videos, it was only a matter of time before the members of fun. got together to pay tribute to Jepsen with their own version of her signature song.

It all happened when fun. paid a visit to the Dutch radio station 3 FM, where host Giel Beelen somehow persuaded the members of the band to put their spin on Jepsen's hit, which has sold more than 1.2 million copies and climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Working with nothing more than a few instruments and live harmonies, they presented a version of the song that, while certainly far more stripped-down than Jepsen's, retains the original's playful, insanely catchy melody. Beelen certainly enjoyed it, pronouncing it "better than the original."

Fun.'s latest album, 'Some Nights,' is a Top 5 hit, with over 230,000 copies sold since its February release. The band recently followed up 'We Are Young' with the album's second single, the title track, which is currently lingering outside the Top 40.
