Gotye may be sick of most of the 'Somebody That I Used to Know' parodies and covers, but he seems to approve of the Bad Lip Reading version, which dubs fake words onto his music video, making it appear as though he's singing ridiculous lines like, "If a woman fails to squeal then I'll smell her jeans."

Gotye posted a link to the comedic re-working of his video on Twitter and quoted one of the fake lyrics, "I'd like to glue a tiny moustache on your cat. On Wednesdays."

Gotye's hook, which begins, "But you didn't have to cut me off," gets transformed in the dubbed version to, "And the genie never got me off / Am I glad I keyed that van / It’ll make me fly when you’re rubbing that thing / I’m fighting with ninja gloves / Been dreaming I could strangle you and it felt so wonderful / No the genie never dumped her load / I’m body snatching you and then I’ma change your diaper / I kiss down really low / I kicked your monkey then I used your goat."

Bad Lip Reading specializes in creating fake words for music videos and political speeches. The lip reading remake is too funny to upset Gotye, even though the singer is generally fed up with everyone mocking his song. He has said, "Sometimes I feel like I’m a bit sick of it. My inbox, on any given day, has at least five covers or parodies or remixes of it and there’s only so many times you can listen to the one song.”
