Shortly after releasing a new song with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon on an Eaux Claires promo cassette, James Blake unveiled a new solo track, “Modern Soul,” during his ongoing BBC Radio 1 residency last night (Feb. 11). Take a listen in the video player above.

Ever since Blake and Vernon announced they would join forces as the Fall Creek Boys Choir at this year’s Eaux Claires music festival, it feels as though the two artists have both gathered newfound momentum toward their long-awaited next albums. Their joint collaboration “Untitled 2” surfaced on the Eaux Claires tape last weekend. It also boasted "Haven, Mass," a rare cut from Vernon’s Bon Iver catalog. Soon thereafter, Vernon said he had started work on his follow-up to 2011 self-titled sophomore effort.

Blake now appears to be following suit with the nonchalant release of “Modern Soul.” Buzz surrounding the English electronic artist’s third full-length Radio Silence has been circulating since 2014. He previously revealed the album will include collaborations with Vernon and Kanye West, however, there’s no word as to when the album will arrive.
