Last night (Oct. 20), Weezer played a show in Burbank, Calif., where they performed a brand-new song, “Thank God for Girls.” Take a listen below (via Substream Magazine):

The Rivers Cuomo-led rockers debuted the new tune mid-set and then played a set-closing encore that was recorded for a forthcoming IHeartRadio broadcast. Otherwise, the set list -- which can be seen at the bottom of the page -- included tracks from across the band’s entire catalog.

It’s yet to be seen if “Thank God for Girls” will appear on a forthcoming Weezer LP. We don’t have many details surrounding the follow-up to last year’s Everything Will Be Alright in the End, but in an interview, Cuomo said it will include a Shakespearean-inspired song called “King Lear.” Likewise, in April, the band shared the one-off single, “Everybody Needs Salvation.”

For now, Weezer only have a couple more dates on the books. They’ll play a show in St. Louis on Dec. 8 followed by a gig in Milwaukee on Dec. 10. Wavves will serve as the opening act for the first show, while Glass Animals will open the second. Get ticket information right here.
