AMC has released a new trailer for the popular drama series ‘Mad Men,’ which returns for its sixth season on April 7 with a two-hour premiere. The tune featured in the gripping promo is Elle King’s ‘Playing for Keeps.’

The song showcases King’s soulful voice as she croons the lyrics “It's a lonely road, where the forgotten goes / Where your misery finds its company / It’s a long way down to the sacred ground / Where the people play for keeps."

‘Playing for Keeps’ appears on ‘The Elle King’ EP, her four-track debut disc, which dropped in June 2012 via RCA Records. It was also the theme song for VH1’s ‘Mob Wives Chicago.’

The singer has cited an eclectic array of influences, including Aretha Franklin, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Otis Redding, the Runaways, Etta James, Blondie, Hank Williams, Earl Scruggs, AC/DC and Johnny Cash. You may have seen her on the road with such bands as Train, Of Monsters and Men and Michael Kiwanuka.
