Who really has six whole minutes to devote to just one song anyway? The theme of this installment of Mandatory Music is apparently songs that are short and sweet.

Aside from a typically sprawling and psychedelic new track from Tame Impala, the other four songs clock in at less than four minutes each. Karen O sets the pace with an 80-second ditty for a Google Doodle, Teenage Time Killers (along with Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio and Blink-182) clock in at 2:44, Seattle's Rocky Votolato does a lot with a little over three minutes and Beck-endorsed singer-songwriter Moses Sumney wraps up his new single in 3:54.

Altogether, you should conceivably be able to listen to this entire feature in the time it takes to heat up leftovers. Enjoy.
