FYF Fest has unveiled its 2016 roster, and it includes headliners Kendrick Lamar, Tame Impala, LCD Soundsystem and Grace Jones.
The festival will take place Aug. 27-28 at Exposition Park in L.A., and tickets go on sale this Friday, April 1. The rest of the lineup includes Beach House, ANOHNI, Grimes, Hot Chip, Father John Misty, Explosions in the Sky, Blood Orange, Moby, Saves the Day (billed as performing their 2001 album Stay What You Are), Vince Staples, Wolf Parade, Ty Segall, the Black Lips, Peter Bjorn & John, Chelsea Wolfe and more. Both Lamar and Tame Impala are coming off big years. Lamar released his Grammy-winning To Pimp a Butterfly last year and followed suit with a surprise album comprised of demos from those sessions, untitled unmastered, at the beginning of the month. Tame Impala dropped their critically lauded Currents in 2015, too.
LCD Soundsystem, meanwhile, just kicked off their buzzed-about reunion tour with a couple of shows in New York City. They have more concerts and festival appearances planned all summer-long. James Murphy and company have also signed with Columbia to record their first album since 2010’s This Is Happening.
