Aside from the notable presence of a contribution by Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon, you could subtitle this week's installment of Mandatory Music as "the Boys are Back in Town."

First, we've got a new song from the upcoming debut from the Arcs – the experimental side project from Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys. Then there's a track from the inimitable Neil Young along with Promise of the Real (featuring Willie Nelson's son, Lukas); a song from the Weeknd that'll presumably be on the forthcoming Chapter III; a new cut from Irish troubadour Damien Rice from the soundtrack to an animated movie; and "Slow Boy," the aforementioned song from Kim Gordon along with J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr.

There's so much testosterone here, it wouldn't be all that shocking to see an ad for Levitra pop up.
