Metric Announce Album Stream, New 2012 Tour Dates

Metric's fifth album, 'Synthetica,' is now available for streaming online to those willing to participate in an online scavenger hunt to locate clues that will "unlock" the stream.

The official release date of 'Synthetica' is June 12, for those who choose not to hunt down the required clues. Two tracks from the record, 'Speed the Collapse' and 'Youth Without Youth,' are already streaming online.

Meanwhile, the Emily Haines-fronted Canadian band has released a series of theater dates in September and October. Most of the concerts are on the East Coast and in the Midwest, though the last couple of dates will take the band to Tempe and Los Angeles. Everyone who purchases a concert ticket will receive a download of 'Youth Without Youth' and additional tracks from 'Synthetica.'

Haines told PopCrush of the 'Youth Without Youth' single, “I was channeling the story of this sort of young kid whose innocence is completely gone before he had the chance to be a kid. A 15-year-old-kid-doing-meth kind of thing. I felt this sort of identity and story to him, that’s the way you feel when you’re 15 and the way hate your parents and it kills them.”
