Nate Ruess Announces Solo Album Release Date + Shares New Behind-Scenes Video
Singer-songwriter Nate Ruess -- best known as the frontman of indie-pop group Fun. -- has just announced his solo debut, Grand Romantic, is set for release on June 16. Ruess (pronounced "ruse") also posted a behind-the-scenes making-of clip for the leadoff single, "Nothing Without Love." In the new clip, Ruess reveals the song's sudsy origins: Apparently, the idea for the melody suddenly came to Ruess while he was in the shower, moving him to jump out and sing it into his phone.
"I didn't know what it was going to be, other than I wanted it to feel very much like an old-timey song," Ruess explains in the clip above (via Complex), which also shows the film crew capturing the outdoor street scenes (and exploding piano) that give the video its distinct character.

Nate Ruess' Grand Romantic is out June 16 on Fueled by Ramen. You can download his latest single right now, though, at iTunes.
