As part of CBS This Morning: Saturday's ongoing Saturday Sessions -- in which the program features phenomenal in-studio musical performances -- news anchors Anthony Mason and Vinita Fair welcomed the Punch Brothers to the stage over the weekend (March 14).

"Formed in 2006, each of the five musicians were well known for their musical skills, but together they have become a force beloved by critics and audiences worldwide," Fair said as she introduced the Chris Thile-led outfit.

The Punch Brothers performed two tracks from their latest LP, The Phosphorescent Blues: "Boll Weevil" (check it out in the video above) and "Magnet" (below).

Waking up on Saturday mornings isn't nearly as bad when you can watch your favorite bands perform on television (it's almost as good as cartoons). If you haven't yet, make sure to check out some past Saturday Sessions featuring the likes of the Lone Bellow, Real Estate and the New Basement Tapes.

The Punch Brothers have several concerts scheduled throughout the states, including a gig at this year's edition of Bonnaroo. You can find all of their dates -- and get details on The Phosphorescent Harvest -- here.
