Listen to ‘Raising the Skate,’ the First Single From Speedy Ortiz’s Upcoming LP

A week ago, Speedy Ortiz announced they’d release a follow-up to their 2013 debut, ‘Major Arcana,’ in April. When they shared the good news, it came with an oddball comic strip, which was pretty great, but now they’ve offered up something even better: a new song.

‘Raising the Skate’ is the first track to emerge from the band's upcoming full-length, ‘Foil Deer.’ The new tune finds frontwoman Sadie Dupuis announcing, “I’m not bossy, I’m the boss / Shooter not the shot,” over gritty guitars. Give the song a spin below:

The 12-track ‘Foil Deer’ is due out April 21 via Carpark Records.
