With plans underway for a new Spiritualized album, it looks like the man behind the boards will be none other than Youth of Killing Joke fame. According to a posting on the Killing Joke Facebook page, Youth has been confirmed as producer.

"Very pleased to announce that Youth will be in the producer seat for the new Spiritualized record. Jason Spaceman has started recording in London at Youth's studio and will complete the recordings in Spain." Killing Joke are also hard at work on a new album.

Youth has gained a solid reputation as producer over the years, manning the controls for everyone from the Verve and the Orb to Pink Floyd and Sir Paul McCartney. His most recent productions include the latest from Echo and the Bunnymen, and 'The Endless River' from Pink Floyd. This will be the first Spiritualized album since 2012's 'Sweet Heart Sweet Light,' and could add to 2015 being a very busy year for Jason Pierce and company. Spiritualized are scheduled to play at this year's Shaky Knees festival in Atlanta, and Austin Psych Fest held May 8-10 at Carson Creek Ranch in Austin, Texas.

Last year for Record Store Day, they contributed a new song, 'Always Forgetting With You (The Bridge Song),' to the 'Space Project' compilation on Lefse Records. You can hear it below:
