Take Your Daughter to Work Day usually ends up being a vacation for both parties -- the daughter gets a day off to make a mess at her mom or dad's office, and the parent spends the day introducing his/her little angel to business associates. But that's not what goes down in this Take Your Daughter to Work Day-themed Subaru commercial, which features a mother/daughter team getting down and dirty, each showing off their green thumbs as they take care of business down on the farm. The band providing that sweet, wholesome-sounding track? None other than Nashville's own By Lightning.

Things are picking up for By Lightning, who put out their debut album, 'Left Hand Right Hand,' earlier this year, then won the BMI publishing group's Road to Bonnaroo contest, assuring them a prized spot on the annual festival's bill, where they turned in an intimate afternoon acoustic set.

The song in the commercial, 'Future History,' doesn't appear on By Lightning's debut album -- in fact, we can't seem to track it down anywhere amongst the band's recorded output -- but it does seem to fit right in with the smooth and catchy indie pop grooves played by the band. Maybe it will show up on the sophomore album. Word has it they are working on that right now.
