As the Decemberists continue to prep for the release of their seventh studio album, 'What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World,' they've already whetted appetites with two new songs: 'Make You Better' and 'Lake Song.' Today (Dec. 16), they continue to keep fans enthralled with new music thanks to the lyric video for the outstanding track, 'The Wrong Year.' Check it out above.

The song is full of intricate and beautiful lyrics courtesy of frontman Colin Meloy, and it will likely warrant multiple listens to dissect its various layers (like many songs from the Decemberists). But if you're like us, you'll be singing along to 'The Wrong Year' in no time: "And she wants you / But you won't do / And it won't leave you alone / And the rain falls / On the wrong year / And it won't leave you alone, it won't leave you alone."

'The Wrong Year' is the seventh track on 'What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World,' which is set for release on Jan. 20. As a bonus to tide you over until that day comes, watch Meloy perform 'Carolina Low,' also from the new record, below (via WFUV):
