The Heat’ -- a new film starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy -- follows the misfit pair of women in their quest to take down a drug lord. In the trailer for the upcoming comedy, the lyrics “Live fast, die young / Bad girls do it well” are appropriately paired with clips of the unruly females causing trouble wherever they go. These lyrics are from the tune ‘Bad Girls’ by M.I.A.

The song was originally unveiled back in January via Interscope. A remix of the track, produced by Switch and featuring hip-hop icons Missy Elliott and Rye Rye, was released in July.

Whether she’s writing a memoir, dabbling in fashion or working on new music, M.I.A. is always up to something. The singer plans to unleash her fourth studio album some time next year, which she has chosen to label ‘Matangi’ (a tribute to her birth name, Mathangi). She recently tweeted that the record will be released alongside not only her new book, but a documentary and an art exhibition as well. She hasn’t disclosed concrete details yet, but maybe she’ll drop a few more hints via Twitter soon.
