Singer-songwriter Matthew E. White appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman last night (March 16) to perform his groovy track, "Rock and Roll is Cold," complete with a brass section and three soulful backup singers. You can watch the singer/songwriter's epic television debut below.

The song appears on White's sophomore album, Fresh Blood, available via Domino Records. White is also a producer and owner of his own Virginia-based record label, Spacebomb Records. The album (like the song) really portrays the artist's jazz studies background with heavy soul and horn implements.

If you didn't catch it, White also visited Paris to perform a stripped down, psychedelic version of Randy Newman's classic song "Sail Away" at La Blogotheque. He will also be performing this week at SXSW in Austin.
