Watch My Morning Jacket Play Red Rocks Amphitheatre in ‘Compound Fracture’ Video
My Morning Jacket played Red Rocks Amphitheatre last month, and that concert now sets the scene for the band’s latest music video for “Compound Fracture.” Check it out above.
The Louisville rockers’ performance and the Colorado landscape merge in the Danny Clinch-directed clip to beautiful, trippy effect. Clinch calls the resulting video a “modern take on psychedelia, which suits My Morning Jacket perfectly.”
“The spirit and electricity we felt playing at Red Rocks was one of the most magical experiences we’ve ever had,” the band said in a statement. “Having our friend Danny and TourGigs there to capture that moment was something we treasure -- now we’re so excited to be able to share that special night with everyone through this video.”
If you missed the Jim James-led crew’s Red Rocks show, you can still catch them during their remaining U.S. travels. They’ll play Portland tonight (Sept. 30), with more dates on the books through next month. The tour wraps up with a four-night residency at New York City’s Beacon Theatre. “Compound Fracture” appears on My Morning Jacket’s most recent full-length, The Waterfall, which arrived earlier this year. The band is expected to release a follow-up sometime next year.
