Cat Power showed up on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' last night and performed 'Manhattan' with the fabulous house band the Roots. The song is the latest single from her ninth album, 'Sun,' which came out last year.

Chan Marshall, the woman behind Cat Power, made her first-ever appearance on Fallon's program, leading the Roots like a natural. Because she's been incorporating soulful horns and other R&B notes to her music for almost a decade now, the super-funky Roots comfortably slip into the song. You can watch the video of the television performance below.

Earlier this week, Marshall unveiled the official video for 'Manhattan.' The song and video are basically valentines to New York City, an open-armed embrace of the bustling city (she cruises through several landmarks in the clip). Her appearance on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' last night, which is filmed in NYC, continues her crush.

While she doesn't have a full tour lined up, Cat Power will perform at several music festivals this summer, including appearances at Bonnaroo, Glastonbury and Lollapalooza. So unless you've got tickets to one of those shows, this late-night TV performance might have to do for now.
