Adele Snags Golden Globe Nomination for ‘Skyfall’ Theme Song
Adele could have some more awards show hardware to ad to her trophy room. The singer has received a 2013 Golden Globe Awards nomination in the Best Original Song in Motion Picture category for 'Skyfall,' her theme song for the soundtrack of the James Bond flick of the same name.
The nominations for the 70th annual awards show were announced this morning (Dec. 13) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and Adele will compete against songs by Taylor Swift (‘Hunger Games’) and Keith Urban ( ‘For You' from ‘Act of Valor’), plus the tracks ‘Not Running Anymore’ from ‘Stand Up Guys’ and ‘Suddenly’ from the forthcoming big screen adaptation of ‘Les Miserables.'
This is Adele's first Golden Globe nomination, and it could very well lead to an Academy Awards nod for next year's Oscars, as the Globes often are a good indication of Oscar frontrunners. She already has numerous awards, including eight Grammys.
Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Aida Takla-O’Reilly introduced the Golden Globe nominees this morning with help from Jessica Alba, Megan Fox and Ed Helms. The show, which will be hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, is set to air Jan. 13 on NBC.
