Andrew W.K. will get his own two-hour weekly radio show on former Fox News host Glenn Beck’s TheBlaze opinion and entertainment network. America W.K. will make its debut on May 2.

A press release described the forthcoming show as a “raw and penetrating discussion of what it is to be alive” -- certainly not a far cry from W.K.’s extensive work as a motivational speaker since finding fame with his 2001 party-centric debut, I Get Wet. During the show, W.K. will also take questions from his listeners.

Beck and W.K. have had a relationship ever since Beck took notice of the “Party Hard” singer’s Ask Andrew W.K. advice column for the Village Voice. W.K. has since been a frequent guest on Beck’s show.

“When Glenn asked me to do my own radio show on TheBlaze, I was shocked but excited, as I knew he would allow me the unrestrained freedom to say exactly what I wanted,” W.K. says. “I’m very dedicated to exploring and learning from different people in different places, and always with an open heart. If people never went outside their own box, life would be boring. After all, why would I only want to talk with people who already think exactly like me?”

“My relationship with Andrew W.K. is a perfect example of how two people can come together on what unites us, and become strange bedfellows,” Beck adds. “He is open minded, honest, loves his fellow man even though he may disagree with him, and is a natural entertainer. Our mutual audiences have already begun to find commonalities. I think he is the perfect fit for TheBlaze Radio Network.”
