This Saturday (April 18), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will induct its 2015 class, which will include Lou Reed, Green Day, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and more. They made the cut over acts like the Smiths and Nine Inch Nails, who were also up for induction.

This year’s group of inductees are all well-deserved honorees, however, it got us and our friends at Ultimate Classic Rock and Loudwire thinking about those who have so far been overlooked by the Cleveland hall of fame.

As such, we’ve gathered a group of 40 artists who have more than earned the rock and roll stamp of approval in our books. Click through our picks -- which include the Smiths, NIN, the Jesus and Mary Chain and the Pixies -- in the gallery above.
