Chvrches Give Electric Performance of ‘Clearest Blue’ on ‘James Corden’

A few months removed from the release of their sophomore effort Every Open Eye, Chvrches stopped by the Late Late Show With James Corden last night (Dec. 15) to play album single “Clearest Blue.”

It would seem as though frontwoman Lauren Mayberry would be swallowed whole by the song’s enormous, swelling beats (not to mention engulfed by the field of blue stage lights that enters midway through the performance), but she’s magnetic, ushering the audience to euphoric highs while fist-pumping the air throughout. Every Open Eye arrived in September via Glassnote, a follow-up to the band’s 2013 debut The Bones of What You Believe.

Chvrches have a few holiday gigs lined up before the year’s out. They’ll play 101X Indie Xmas Concert in Austin, Texas, tomorrow; 94.5 the Buzz’s Buzzfestivus in Houston the following day; and Reaction New Year’s Eve in Rosemont, Ill., on Dec. 30.
