Delta Spirit Announce Tour With Special Guest Appearances

Delta Spirit dropped their most recent (and fourth) full-length, Into the Wide, in the fall of last year. Now, they have added a new string of tour dates in support of the album, but this time the San Diego-based indie-rockers will bring some friends along for special guest appearances.

The tour -- which kicks off with a two-night stint in the band's hometown on May 29 and 30 -- is dubbed “An Evening With Delta Spirt and Friends.” As such, it will feature a rotating cast of guest appearances including members of Deer Tick, Dr. Dog and the Walkmen. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah frontman Alec Ounsworth, Nashville singer-songwriter Robert Ellis and Deep Sea Diver’s Jessica Dobson are also expected to join Delta Spirit on the upcoming tour.

“We really wanted to do something unique and personal on this tour,” Delta Spirit leader Matt Vasquez said in a press release, “and give fans a rare chance to see us perform in intimate venues.”

“We’re going to do some deep cuts from our albums, covers of some of our favorite jams and some reworked and stripped-down versions of our most popular songs,” he added.

The tour has stops scheduled through mid-August. Check out the complete itinerary below:
