The social event of the season went down in South Carolina over the weekend, when Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were joined in wedded bliss -- and wedding guests were treated to a three-song set from Florence + the Machine.

The Grammy-nominated British act certainly isn't your average wedding band -- but then again, it isn't every day that two of Hollywood's busiest young stars tie the knot. According to People Magazine, the duo, who starred together in the 2011 film 'Green Lantern,' have been linked for roughly a year. The article also reports that Machine frontwoman Florence Welch became involved with the ceremony through her friendship with Lively, who rose to prominence through her role in the CW's 'Gossip Girl.'

According to People, the wedding took place on Sunday (Sept. 9), with attendees assembled under a tent at the Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, S.C. Other famous guests included Bette Midler, who was reportedly spotted having dinner with Lively's mother and sister before the blessed event.

The wedding gig was probably the last we'll hear from Florence + the Machine for awhile -- Welch recently announced her plans to take a year off before thinking about the band's next step, saying, "The record company have put no pressure on me for the next album. They've said I can have as long as I want."
