Nabil, who has directed music videos for a list of artists that includes Kanye West, Bon Iver, Alt-J, Frank Ocean, Skrillex and all sorts of others, released the result of possibly the biggest challenge of his career today (July 29): a 360-degree, virtual reality music video for Foals' new single "Mountain At My Gates." Check out the fruits of his labor below.

The clip features multiple versions of the band playing in a stadium-like alley in front of a rising and falling mountainous backdrop. It was filmed entirely on a Go-Pro spherical camera, which allows viewers on YouTube to scroll around the environment and get a complete view of the area in motion. Go-Pro also released a behind-the-scenes video, which is also in 360-degrees, that shows some of the process.

Nabil says in the clip, which you can watch below, "We are at the beginning of what we can really do with this. It's a different medium of art. It has the power to transport you."

The video can be watched on a computer using the keyboard to navigate the space, although the effect is more impressive when watching in the YouTube app on a mobile device, where viewers can move the camera with motion control.
