This week's installment of Mandatory Music features a few prominent, long-awaited returns.

First, there's Beck's emergence from the relatively somber melancholy of his Grammy-winning Morning Phase and his return to upbeat dance-flavored music with the single, "Dreams." Then there's the first new music from Eagles of Death Metal (featuring co-founder Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age) since 2008. We've also got the initial taste of Ratatat's first new album in five years and the Dear Hunter's return to the overarching six-part concept that frontman Casey Crescenzo hasn't added to since 2009. Then there's a new song from British rockers Foals -- and it's just, you know, always good to hear from them.
