Grimes Tops List of Most Blogged Artists of 2012

This has certainly been a breakthrough year for Grimes. On the strength of her fantastic third LP, 'Visions,' the Canadian singer has been making plenty of best-of lists, and she's up for Album of the Year in our 2012 Diffuser.fm Music Awards. Thanks in part to all of her other list mentions, she's now topped another tally: Hype Machine's Most Blogged Artists of 2012.

"We looked at a whole year worth of posts to find the most blogged artists of 2012," explains Hype Machine, which compiles data from numerous music blogs. The result was a list of 50 bands and artists, each accompanied by a cool original graphic created by one of the site's favorite visual artists. Grimes beat out Lana Del Rey, Hot Chip, Passion Pit and Purity Ring to land the top spot; check out the Top 10 below, or view the entire list of 50 here.

It's hard to argue with the (likely psuedo-scientific) method used to compile this list, since we don't know what it was, but really (spoiler alert!), where in the world is Grizzly Bear?
