Haim Are Working on Second Album With Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij
At the beginning of the year, Haim revealed they had started work on the follow-up to their breakthrough debut, Days Are Gone. Now, we have learned, per an Instagram post from Rostam Batmanglij, the sisters are collaborating with the Vampire Weekend multi-instrumentalist for their upcoming LP. The clip includes audio of Danielle Haim playing a guitar solo in the studio -- listen below:
Earlier, Haim appeared on a special Halloween episode of Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show, and the trio gave another status update on their sophomore effort. They told Lowe they're working on the record everyday and it's "well underway," using an extended cooking metaphor for their progress thus far:
We’re getting stuff done. It’s sounding really cool. Essentially the oven has been pre-heated and the oven door is open. More 350 [degrees] if I’m being honest. Fish fingers in the tray.
The sisters also announced that they will launch the inaugural episode of their own Beats 1 show, Haim Time, this Thursday (Nov. 5) at 10PM EST.
Previously, Haim shared a photo with producer Ariel Rechtshaid, announcing they had reentered the studio in January. Rechtshaid also worked with the sisters on Days Are Gone, which landed back in 2013.
