The new Hillshire Farm commercial promotes a mouth-watering flavor of smoked hickory to accompany such dishes as gumbo, pizza and tacos. What’s the song in this appetizing ad?

The tune is Andrew Bird’s ‘Tenuousness’ from his album ‘Noble Beast,’ which dropped in 2009 via Fat Possum Records. The record peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard Rock Albums chart. The Guardian called the disc “a celebration and a sorrowful evocation of the natural world as closely observed and sumptuously illustrated as any Victorian study.”

In addition to providing the soundtrack for the Hillshire Farm commercial (watch below), the instrument-heavy track played over the closing credits of the 2011 film ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love.’

Bird dropped a new studio album last fall through Mom + Pop titled ‘Hands of Glory.’ Click here to read Diffuser.fm’s opinion of the record.

You might have seen Bird on the road with the likes of Here We Go Magic, Death Cab for Cutie, Wilco, Nickel Creek, Ani DiFranco and the Decemberists. He and his band have a series of tour dates lined up for 2013 and are on the lineup for several upcoming festivals, including Bottle Rock, Sasquatch! and Boston Calling.
