King Crimson are one of the few bands that gained notoriety in the late '60s that still releases great albums today. The band's lineup has changed many times over the years, but guitarist and band leader Robert Fripp (he's the guy in the above video playing guitar who looks like an over-enthusiastic mortician) has always maintained the band's high standards.

Both Fripp and then-frontman Adrian Belew play the guitar like gods who took human form to start a rock band. As a matter of fact, most of the time Fripp looks like an alien who's trying desperately to pass as human. "Just keep smiling and they'll never suspect a thing," he was surely thinking during this performance of 'Elephant Talk' from ABC's 'Saturday Night Live' ripoff 'Fridays,' which ran for two years starting in 1980.

Belew makes sounds with his guitar that probably weren't ever meant to be heard by human ears. Every time he hits his strings, his instrument sounds completely different. It is very possible that Belew is actually a human-shaped robot being controlled by an army of hyper-intelligent bacteria.

Fripp announced his retirement in 2012, but decided to reform King Crimson less than a year later. He declared that the band would have seven members, including three drummers. Reinforcing our deity theory, Fripp said, "The Seven-Headed Beast of Crim is in Go! mode." Belew was not included in the new lineup, causing us to worry that this could be the trigger for a 21st-century Baga Vad Gita, an apocalyptic war fought with otherworldly weapons shaped like guitars.
