While we were enjoying Ryan Adams’ final show of the current leg of his tour, millions of people were glued to their TV sets watching the American Music Awards. One of very few performances we were actually intrigued by came from the inimitable Lorde when she sang ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’ for the first time ever on U.S. television. If, like us, you missed it, don’t worry -- you can check it out in the video above.

‘Yellow Flicker Beat’ was introduced by actress Elizabeth Banks, who stars in ‘Hunger Games,’ as the movie’s official theme song. Lorde of course curated the entire soundtrack for the upcoming ‘Hunger Games’ edition ('Mockingjay -- Part 1'), and performs on several of the tracks.

Lorde’s performance on the American Music Awards comes just a few weeks after debuting the official music video for ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’; if you were one of, well, if you were the one person who missed it, you can watch it below:

So what did you think of the live performance of the song? Did you think Lorde was the star of the awards show? Is that Taylor Swift singing along to every single word of 'Yellow Flicker Beat'? Let us know in the comments section below!
