Since his 2012 full-length, Layers, singer-songwriter Matt Sucich has been hard at work recording (he released his one-off single, “The Lonely Dreamer,” last year) and touring. Recently, Sucich and his backing band visited the iconic Electric Lady Studios in New York City, where he performed a pair of new tunes live: “Sentimental & Fearless” and “Mirages.”

The Wild Honey Pie caught everything on film for their Buzzsessions, a series that captures artists performing “alternate, studio-quality versions of their songs.” We’re reaping the benefits, of course, enjoying the two clips that show Sucich effortlessly performing his heartfelt alt-country in the iconic space. Watch “Sentimental & Fearless” in the video above, and then “Mirages” below:

Earlier this month, we learned that Sucich would join a stellar lineup for Willie Nelson’s annual Heartbreak Banquet at SXSW in Austin. It’ll take place on March 19 at Nelson’s private ranch in Luck, Texas. Sucich will join a roster that includes Hurray for the Riff Raff, the Heartless Bastards, Delta Spirit, Angel Olsen, the Deslondes and more.

After he wraps up his SXSW stint, the New York City-based Sucich will head to Boston for a show at Cafe 939 on March 28.
