Shortly after the debut of “Lazarus,” the second cut to emerge from David Bowie’s new album , Michael C. Hall, the lead of the Thin White Duke’s Off-Broadway play of the same name, performed the track on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

Bowie wasn't present for the performance, but the Dexter actor does a pretty close reading of the English icon’s signature vocal styling. In fact, a teaser for the TV appearance leads us to believe embodying Hall is actually Bowie’s latest artistic undertaking.

“Hello, it’s me David Bowie, Ziggy Stardust, the Thin White Duke, and now, in my most outlandish persona yet, acclaimed actor Michael C. Hall,” Hall says in the clip. “Don’t recognize me? Well, I’ve had a plastic surgeon make some ch-ch-changes.”

You can watch that in the video below, while Hall’s performance of “Lazarus” can be seen at the top of the page. The song will also appear on Blackstar when it lands on Jan. 8 via RCA/Columbia. Bowie has also unveiled the forthcoming album's title track and an accompanying short film.
