Mountain Dew recently unveiled Kickstart, a new breakfast energy drink. Available in two different flavors, orange citrus and fruit punch, the caffeinated juice-soda hybrid promises to be the perfect way to start your morning. The ad features the upbeat Kid Cudi tune ‘Up, Up and Away.’

The track is from his record ‘Man on the Moon: The End of Day,’ which dropped back in 2009 via G.O.O.D. Music. The disc achieved impressive commercial success in the U.S., reaching No. 4 on both the Billboard 200 and Billboard Top Rap Albums charts. Additionally, Entertainment Weekly named it the best hip-hop album of 2009. Cudi is currently working on a new album, 'Indicud,' set to hit stores April 23.

The rhymer-singer is also known for his side project, WZRD, a collaboration with friend and fellow artist Dot da Genius. The alt-rock duo released their self-titled studio debut, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, last February.

Cudi has recorded with Kanye West, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Blink-182's Travis Barker and Pharrell and expressed interest in working with such bands as Green Day, Drake, the Killers, Kings of Leon and the Postal Service. He also appeared in the music video for Solange’s ‘T.O.N.Y’ as well as the Black Eyed Peas’ video for ‘I Gotta Feeling.’
