Ratatat have shared a new video for “Pricks of Brightness” from this year’s Magnifique. Check it out above.

The clip was filmed by Luis Cerveró in Paris, and it splices footage of a bunch of seemingly unrelated images: the band performing in a diverse set of locales, artists holding up their work, someone spray-painting the word “pricks” just about everywhere and a knife game with a messy end. According to Cerveró, attempting to cull meaning from Ratatat’s new visual will likely prove fruitless.

“[‘Pricks of Brightness’] is the result of many conversations with the band about the meaning of making instrumental music, and also about the idea of meaning itself, what meaning exactly means or how meaningless meaning can be,” the director said in a statement.

Magnifique, the Brooklyn-based duo’s fifth album to date, landed back in July. The band will return to the states for a string of tour dates just in time for the new year. They'll play New Year's Eve show in San Francisco followed by stops in Boston; New York City; Sayreville, N.J.; Washington, D.C.; Norfolk, Va.; Raleigh, N.C.; Knoxville, Tenn.; New Haven, Conn.; and Philadelphia.
