After its opening track was leaked last week, it was rumored that Ryan Adams' next album was coming out on Sept. 9. That date has just been confirmed, along with some other information regarding the LP.

The self-titled album will be released on Adams' Pax Am label, the same company that's been releasing some of his solo work over the past couple years (including a 15-record live set put out in 2012).

The record, which Adams also produced himself, will include 11 songs, including 'Gimme Something Good,' the riff-driven rocker that's now available at iTunes. No word on whether or not the whole album will take this tougher approach, but we're guessing it probably will be a lot more heavy guitar-oriented than Adams' last record, 2011's singer-songwriter-leaning 'Ashes & Fire.'

The single's B-side, 'Aching for More' (which is not on the upcoming album's track listing), apparently features Johnny Depp on guitar. The 'Gimme Something Good' 7-inch is currently sitting at No. 1 in Amazon's Alternative Rock music store.

Adams hasn't announced a tour to go along with the new album yet, but he does have some dates lined up later this month and into early August. Take a look at the dates and check out the album cover below:
