Taking Back Sunday Play Hometown Show in Long Island With the Menzingers + Letlive
The Long Island boys of Taking Back Sunday returned home as they performed for a packed house at the Paramount earlier this week (March 24), marking their third show in New York City on the tour. Stellar support was provided by the Menzingers and Letlive.
Taking Back Sunday kicked off their set with “Flicker, Fade” off of their most recent album, Happiness Is, and then swung into the upbeat “What's It Feel Like to Be a Ghost” and “Number Five Without a Bullet.”
In addition to being a homecoming of sorts, the night was special as it marked the Paramount’s 500th show. The venue shook as fans danced and sung to notable Taking Back Sunday songs like “Liar (It Takes One to Know One),” “Cute Without the ‘E’ (Means Cut from the Team)” and “MakeDamnSure.”
To say the least, Taking Back Sunday gave Long Island an unforgettable performance; it’s no surprise that they pack and sellout venues wherever they play in New York City -- and we're guessing they'll continue to do so.
Our fellow East Coast neighbors, the Philly-based band the Menzingers, gave fans an energetic performance as they celebrated their latest release, Rented World. Also on the bill were Letlive; strong, emotionally raw and passionate are simply not enough to describe the power of their live show. Within the first song, frontman Jason Butler made his way into the crowd, to the top of the bar, and back on stage.
