Vampire Weekend haven't put out an album since the fantastic Modern Vampires of the City in 2013, but bassist Chris Baio, who has been making music on his own over the past few years as Baio, announced a break in the drought with his debut record, which will come out sometime this summer on Glassnote Records.

Baio, who in a press release described his upcoming material as "Bowie and Ferry-influenced pop songs and dumbsmart arena techno," has previously released two EPs: Sunburn in 2012 and Mira in 2013. He's also recently lent a hand to the Very Best, playing bass on two tracks from their new album, Makes a King.

The rest of Vampire Weekend have been relatively quiet since winning a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album in 2014: Aside from Baio's new album, the last we've heard from the group is when frontman Ezra Koenig briefly appeared on an episode of The Jack and Triumph Show on Adult Swim, which stars Jack McBrayer and Robert Smigel's character, Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog.
