Yesterday (Aug. 21), the Foo Fighters’ concert in Kansas City, Mo., became the target of the notorious Westboro Baptist Church’s latest hate-fueled protest, but the Foos did not stand idly by. Instead, they staged their own counter-protest -- with some keen assistance from Rick Astley.

Dave Grohl and company drove into the protest outside the Sprint Center on the back of a pickup truck blaring Astley’s famous “Never Gonna Give You Up,” effectively Rickrolling the WBC picketers. Watch the whole scene transpire in the videos below:

The band brandished signs that read, “Keep It Clean,” and, “You Got Rick Roll’d (Again).” The latter refers to the fact that this is not the first time the Foos have responded in earnest to a Westboro Baptist Church protest. In 2011, the Foo Fighters pulled a similar stunt when they drove into another WBC protest in Kansas City on a truck covered in American flags, wearing some pretty terrific wigs and singing a country tune dubbed “Keepin It Clean in KC.”
