Deerhunter Announce U.S. Tour With Frontman Bradford Cox’s Atlas Sound as the Opener
Earlier this month, Deerhunter announced they will soon return with a new album, Fading Frontier. At the time, the Atlanta-based indie rockers shared dates for their upcoming European tour, and now they’ve revealed details for the U.S. leg of their travels.
The Bradford Cox-led outfit will make stops in L.A., San Francisco, Portland and Seattle between Oct. 17 and 21 before heading overseas. They’ll return stateside on Dec. 4 with a concert in Asheville, N.C. The run of dates will then wrap up with two shows in the band's hometown on Jan. 8 and 9.
And if Cox didn’t have enough on his plate already, he’ll not only serve as the main event for the upcoming shows, but also the opening act. His solo project, Atlas Sound, is denoted as the opener for many of the concerts, which can be seen on the complete itinerary below.
Fading Frontier is due out Oct. 16 via 4AD, following Deerhunter’s 2013 effort, Monomania. The band has already debuted a music video for the forthcoming LP’s lead single, “Snakeskin.”
