Father John Misty Delivers Slick Cover of Rihanna’s ‘Kiss It Better’

Father John Misty approaches most of his ventures with a healthy amount of snark, but when he recently introduced a seemingly left-field cover of Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better” into his set list, he actually made for a pretty convincing R&B crooner.

Josh Tillman delivered a faithfully slick, sultry rendition of Rihanna’s Anti single during his concert at the Observatory in Santa Ana, Calif., last night (March 30). Check out fan-shot footage of the performance up above and then compare it to the original at the bottom of the page.

The latest leg of Tillman’s North American tour behind last year’s I Love You, Honeybear continues tomorrow with the first show of a two-night run at the Fox Theater in Oakland, Calif.
