The Flaming Lips have released a 10-minute video for “Almost Home (Blisko Domu),” which features what they’ve called a “typically Lipsian fantasy sequence which culimates in a live performance crescendo.” You can watch it above.

The track appears on their most recent album, Oczy Mlody, which was launched in January, following which the band undertook a European tour. They'll begin a North American run next month.

Speaking exclusively to Diffuser earlier this year, frontman Wayne Coyne discussed the band’s haphazard approach to their creative process. Focusing on Oczy Mlody he said, “We had the cover, we had a pretty good idea what it was gonna look like towards the end. And that helped us start to put it all in place. The very last song that we created would be 'There Should Be Unicorns.' It’s such confidence that what you’re saying is working, that it allows you to say these really absurd things, knowing it was going to be this futuristic drug and fairy tale.”

He also talked up the advantage of using “gobbledy-goop” instead of writing real lyrics. “I always remember that too late, you know? Gobbledy-goop works great! [Sings the “Hey Jude” coda] ‘Naa, naa, naa, na-na na naaaa!’ You would have messed it up if you try to make that into an epic lyric. So I always have my panic solutions of, well, ‘I’ll turn it into gobbledy-goop and see what happens.’”

The Flaming Lips’ next run of shows – which includes a solitary U.K. date in Wales – are in support of Oczy Mlody and its companion album On Board the International Space Station Concert for Peace, which reimagines the songs as if they were part of a fictional live show aboard the Space Station.
