Foo Fighters’ North American Tour Will Go Ahead as Scheduled
After frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg during a concert in Sweden, the Foo Fighters had to cancel a string of European tour dates, including their headlining slot at this year’s Glastonbury festival. However, the band announced the upcoming North American portion of their tour will go on as planned.
The Foos will return to the road as soon as the Fourth of July, when they’ll celebrate their 20th anniversary as a band with a massive concert at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C., featuring guest appearances from their Sonic Highways collaborators Buddy Guy, Gary Clark Jr., Joan Jett and more.
The band has dates scheduled through mid-October (including two-night stays in Toronto, New York City, Boston, Denver and L.A.) before heading back to Europe. Along the way, they’ll be joined by Royal Blood, Mission of Burma, Cheap Trick and more. Get all of the details below.
While Grohl was recovering, Florence + the Machine and Faith No More stepped up to the plate and filled in for the Foos at Glastonbury and Rock Werchter Festival, respectively. Both outfits paid tribute to Grohl and company with covers of songs from the band's 2002 effort, One By One. Welch delivered her rendition of “Times Like These,” while Faith No More covered “All My Life.”
