As Julian Casablancas continues fearlessly onwards with his band the Voidz in support of their recent debut LP 'Tyranny,' a lot of malleable constructs still float in the air. Although not as notorious as say your day-by-day reported Arcade Fire setlist, Casblancas is anything but predictable.

Favorers of 'Tyranny' likely have the same feelings toward Ariel Pink's just released 'pom pom,' which is not a mark on any classification of music listener, eclectic or otherwise.

So where is this rambling leading?

Julian Casablancas and the Voidz played New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom the other night (Nov. 25), coming a few months after presenting what was either criticized as reprehensible noise or a bold new direction at their pre-release Governors Ball set earlier this summer. Bonus, the band ripped through the Strokes' 'You Only Live Once' off of 'First Impressions of Earth,' another album met with a wide spectrum of response.
