The good news is that Mac DeMarco is hosting a barbeque/listening party today (July 8) at 1PM, and you can get some hot dogs cooked by the man himself if you bring a food bank donation. The bad news is for many people is that the event is going down at 153 Morgan Ave. in Brooklyn, so it's not accessible to everybody who wants to hear new Mac DeMarco music played from his car speakers. But more good news is that this morning, DeMarco shared the barbeque's soundtrack, a new instrumental collection called Some Other Ones, via Bandcamp. Give it a listen below.

The 21-minute release was written and recorded remarkably recently, from July 4 to 8, and features 9 songs, most of them between 2 to 3 minutes in length. Some Other Ones is likely a teaser for Another One, DeMarco's "mini-album" that will be released on August 7 via Captured Tracks, and is an extension of his 2014 album Salad Days.

Attendees of the barbeque can also buy an "ass pass," which will allow the buyer to "get into all 4 SOLD OUT NYC shows happening in August as well as a t-shirt and a little surprise, my kiddies," according to a post on DeMarco's Facebook page. He's also having a street sale, so maybe you can grab some old T-shirts or something.
