SwansMichael Gira has canceled his upcoming solo tour in Australia.

Gira was supposed to launch a string of dates in Australia this weekend, including stops in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Those three concerts have been canceled, but the remainder of Gira’s tour across Europe will go on as planned. You can see the updated itinerary at the bottom of the page.

No reason was given for the cancelation, but last week, Gira was accused of rape by singer-songwriter and former collaborator Larkin Grimm. Grimm claims the incident took place in 2008 while the two artists were working together on her album Parplar. Grimm says when she confronted Gira, he dropped her from his Young God label. Gira called the allegations a “slanderous lie” before acknowledging a “romantic moment” with Grimm but reiterating it was consensual and “fortunately not consummated.” Grimm maintained her account of events, saying, “This was still rape.”
