According to Julian Casablancas in an interview with BBC 6Music, the Strokes could very likely begin new work in January of 2015.

As NME reported, when asked about new music, the singer-songwriter remarked, "In January we might meet up and work on some ideas. Everyone is psyched. Everything is in a really cool place."

Casablancas went on to praise the band's current "working relationship" in that it's been the best he thinks they've had since they formed back in 1998. He went on to discuss how the band's approach to songwriting, come January, will be more as friends rather than as business associates.

In the interim, Casablancas is releasing his second solo record with the band Julian Casablancas + The Voids on Sept. 23. You can find out more about that disc here.
